Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School, which serves Middleboro students, has been granted $106,000 through an Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development’s Career Technical Initiative to support training and placement services for individuals in the welding field, State Sen. Marc Pacheco, D-Taunton, has announced.

The allocation is part of an overall $1,178,000 in funding to address the persistent demand in the construction, the trades and manufacturing sectors and to build capacity at vocational high schools along with providing funding to deliver adult training, credentialing, and placement services, Pacheco said.

Employer partners include Wayne's Sheet Metal, Green Brothers Fabrication, and Brouillette HVAC and Sheet Metal.

“I am pleased to see the Healey-Driscoll Administration’s efforts to support workforce development in these sectors with the grant funding for this initiative,” Pacheco said. “Individuals enrolled in this program will learn high-demand skills with the opportunity to be placed into good paying jobs at local small businesses.”
