Middleboro and Lakeville celebrate the holidays in style

Dec 22, 2023

Just because it wasn’t a white Christmas doesn’t mean it wasn’t a merry Christmas. Although the weather on the week leading up to Christmas Evening featured rain and winds rather than snow, Middleboro and Lakeville still took the time to set up decorations and celebrate the Holiday.

In Lakeville, residents decorated their yards with Christmas decorations and the fire department featured a display of Santa and his reindeer.

Downtown Middleboro was particularly festive.

At the Rustic Rhino on 12 South Main Street, owner Ann Aylward decorated the store’s front windows with multiple Christmas trees and brightly colored dresses. Those trees were only a fraction of the trees she had in her store, Aylward explained, because she has a tendency to give the trees away.

“I've given three trees away to people I don’t even know, just because they’ve come in and been so nice,” she said.

The Law Office of Adam Bond was also decked out for the Holidays. The building featured nutcrackers and a mailbox for letters to Santa.

“We've been collecting this stuff over the years,” said Adam Bond. “It's in the center of downtown and downtown has given to this firm — most of our clientele comes from here — so it was a nice thing to be able to give back.”
